Craig's Review on Iron Man 2
My favourite part of the film was when iron man shot out a laser and destroyed all the robots around him.
It is a really good film despite the fact it is not in 3D.I would rate it 4 stars.

Last Sunday I went to Chartbusters in Lucan.
I rented a new movie called Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 the Squeakual.
The movie is about the Chipmunks who have to battle it out with a new singing group called the Chipetttes. There’s an evil guy in the movie called Ian Hawk. Ian only used the Chipmunks and the Chipettes to make money. The Chipmunks and The Chipettes mend their differences and become a family.
There are 3 Chipmunks and 3 Chipettes. There names are: Alvin, Simon, Theodore, Brittany, Eleanor and Jeanette.
Alvin is the cool one, Simon is the smart one and Theodore is the cute and adorable one.
The movie stars: Jason Lee, David Cross, Zachary Levi, Wendie Malick, Justin Long, Matthew Gray Gubler and Jesse Mc Cartney.

Something from my weekend
On Saturday my next door neighbour brought his horses down to his garden. I went on the horses with him and we went around Oscar fields. It was really fun – I really love horse-riding.
Though it wasn’t all good because when I was on the horses I had no top on and I got really sunburned. My Mam had to put ‘aftersun’ cream on it. It was stinging really bad.
After we took the horses back to the stables we had to clean them and give them feed and water.
I look forward to going there again…this time I think I’ll leave my top on!

Our School Trip to the D.S.P.C.A.
On
There was a woman named Miriam who told us all the bad things that can happen to cats and dogs. There could be diseases, life-threatening conditions and hunger when they die.
Then, Miriam showed us the cats and dogs. In the cat room, there was a cat that had one eye. And in the dog room, all of dogs were barking. After that, we got our lunch. Dogs came over to eat our lunch which was funny and strange at the same time. Then we got back on the bus back to Joey’s.
Overall, my day to the D.S.P.C.A. was brilliant; I loved all of the cats and dogs, they were so fun and so friendly, I would love to go there again sometime.

the dspca by conor :)
We met a lady called Miriam and she told us about unwanted pets and how to treat them. She spoke about her own three dogs, one of which she described as being a killer, even though she was tiny!
After that we went to a cattery. It turns out that cats like classical music, because when we went in all the cats were half sleeping and the soft classical music was playing.
Then we went to the dog shelter and I especially liked a black Labrador named Duke.
I was happy to see all those dogs and cats were in good hands.

Water is precious - by Conor
First of all if you’re wondering why I’m going on about all this water stuff, it’s because Joey’s is trying to get a new green flag, and this year’s theme is, you guessed it, water.
I’ve learnt that this one-of-a-kind element is something not to be taken for granted. Even though we do. But what can we do? Maybe instead of just pouring all the water we don’t want to drink down the drain, we should just either drink it or use it to water a plant or something. For instance, my brother Patrick takes a cup of water from the tap, takes two sips, then pours the rest of it down the sink.
Another method of preserving water could perhaps be to use a little less water when we do the dishes.
What do you think?
So why not conserve, because water is precious.

Daniel's diary entry
We went to see Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang. My favourite bit was the one where the pigs were flying and swimming, it was really funny.
Nanny McPhee is really scary. She even has a Magic
Stick which makes them stop being naughty!
She has 5 lessons to being good: To stop fighting, to share nicely, to help others, to be brave and to have faith.
The film was really good. I would definitely recommend it. I would give it 7 out of 10.
Jack's diary entry
Yesterday I gave my brother an atomic wedgey. It was so bad it ripped his boxers and he had to go home and get new ones.
When I got home my mam said “why did you give your brother a wedgey?”
Then my mam said that I was grounded for a week. The next day I sneaked out the window and went down to my friend’s. But when I was walking down my mam drove by and caught me. She stopped and shouted, “get home right now!”
When I went I was grounded for another four weeks.
It was then I started to think that perhaps the atomic wedgey think was not such a good idea! Will I ever learn....
Conor's diary entry
One is when I go to a group of kids and say:
“do you know that if your hand is bigger than your face it’s a sign of low intelligence?” And you know 8 out of 10 Kids will always try this!!
In my second school I spread a rumour about National Ploopey Day. It was like an inspiration…the way it occurred to me! I slipped on the floor in the bathroom, hit my head off the sink, then saw a vision of a festival of the National Ploopies!
So anyway, I spread the rumour to John and he told a few other people, who told their people and before I new it everyone was talking about it and even Mrs Mullins had gotten wind of it.
Of course, somewhere along the way someone had added to the rumour that National Ploopey Day was a Turkish Day and was to be celebrated tomorrow! Teacher walked up to Rog, the Turkish boy in our class (my second school was an Educate Together) and asked him if it was true that it was a special day for him and his family tomorrow. Since his English is not good I don’t think he understood her, because he just nodded and smiled back to her and she of course took this as a big yes!
Then things really got out of hand. I think the teacher lost her head a little.
The next day she had got banners, balloons and a confetti canon to the ready. It really was quite a festive atmosphere till the Principal arrive in with the Turkish kid’s parents and Mrs Mullins went up to congratulate them and got the whole class to shout out: ‘Happy Ploopey Day’ at which point Rog set off the canon!
As you can imagine, there was much confusion and embarrassment all round. Mrs Mullins turned the brightest red I’ve ever seen, even Attracta (our Principal) was for once lost for words!
Once things settled down the investigation started. Teacher was mad to know who started the ‘desperate rumour’ (as she now called it!). She was frustrated in her attempts here too because in response to her question as to who it was, Rog shouted out with complete belief – ‘MEEEE’.
Of course it did get back to me…and that was that for that school!
My other trick involved tongue twisters. One is where you try to say a tongue-twister and end up saying sixteen swears!
I’m a master at tong twisters.
Tong twisters
(A bit hard)
‘How much wood could a Wood Chuck chuck if a Wood Chuck could chuck wood.’
(Super hard)
‘The skunk sat on the stump and the stump thought the skunk stunk and the skunk thought the stump stunk.’
(Hard)
‘I’m not a pheasant plucker I’m a pheasant plucker’s son and I’m only plucking pheasants till the pheasant plucker comes.’
(Easy)
‘She saw you saw Susie’s see-saw’
(Super easy)
‘She sells sea shells by the sea shore.’
(Really hard)
‘Red lorry yellow lorry.’ (x10)
‘Irish wrist watch.’ (x10)
‘Sea shell shark’ (x10)

In class we are looking at different diaries and blogs. We are reading 'The Diary of a Wimpy Kid' Here is the link to it. It is very funny, I would recomend it to you to read it. We have just finished 'How I Survived The Irish Famine: The Diary Of Mary O' Flynn' This is a very good book because it tells you what it was like in Ireland during the famine from the point of view from a child.
We are going to start 'The Diary of Anne Frank' soon.
We are also writing up our own diaries and we hope post these up in the next few days.
